Description
Pushkar, located in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan, is one of the oldest cities in India. According to Hindu mythology, it was created by Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe. Legend says that Brahma dropped a lotus flower on Earth, and the place where it landed became the Pushkar Lake. The city is one of the few places in the world with a temple dedicated to Lord Brahma, attracting thousands of pilgrims every year. Over centuries, Pushkar developed as a major center of spirituality, trade, and culture. It was also mentioned in ancient texts like the Ramayana and Mahabharata. Pushkar is famous for its annual camel fair, which showcases Rajasthan’s vibrant traditions, and for being a peaceful retreat for spiritual seekers.

Pushkar Lake
Pushkar Lake is a sacred water body believed to have been created by Lord Brahma. Pilgrims take holy dips here, especially during festivals, to cleanse their sins. The lake is surrounded by 52 bathing ghats (steps leading to water), each with its own religious significance.

Pushkar Camel Fair
